What You’ll Learn
Through hands-on guidance, students learn how metal is melted, shaped, and transformed into finished jewelry.
Depending on the chosen design, students may learn to draw their own wire, roll metal sheet, forge and shape components, set faceted, round stones, fabricate parts, solder, and fuse metal using traditional metalsmithing techniques.
Jewelry photographs appear throughout the Summer Metalsmithing Atelier pages and may inspire ideas for your own design. If something attracts you, that piece can become your first project. If you already have an idea in mind, feel free to send Lois a photo and discuss the possibilities.
