Summer Metalsmithing Atelier for Teens

Six Tuesday Workshops • 1:00–5:00 PM

This intimate summer atelier invites teens into the world of traditional jewelry making. Over six weekly workshops, students work at a professional jeweler’s bench learning metalsmithing techniques while designing and creating their own pieces in fine silver. With only two seats available, each student receives personal guidance in a calm studio setting where patience, focus, and craftsmanship are at the center of the experience.

Students may attend individually, with a sibling or friend, or as a parent–teen pair, sharing a rare opportunity to learn an ancient craft side by side.

Learn Traditional Metalsmithing

Students are introduced to the foundations of traditional metalsmithing while working at a professional jeweler’s bench. Through hands-on guidance, they learn how metal is melted, formed, shaped, and transformed into jewelry.

Design and Create Real Jewelry

Students design their own pieces and bring them to life in fine silver. Throughout the process, they learn essential techniques such as fabrication, annealing, piercing, rolling, soldering, texturing, and stone setting.

Learn in a Private Studio Atelier

With only two seats available, students receive personal guidance in a quiet studio setting where patience, focus, and craftsmanship are at the center of the experience. The work is meditative and transformative.
